What is Notion?

Notion’s multi-functional sensors can monitor for opening doors and windows, sounding smoke/CO alarms, water leaks and temperature changes.  Notifications will be send to your phone.

Where do I put the sensors?

You will be receiving a three pack of sensors.  We ask that you use two of them for water.  Place them by your hot water tank, supply lines under the sinks or toilet, by a washing machine or behind a fridge if you have a water supply line.  The third sensor can be used for any of three functions that Notion offers.

How do they work?

Notion’s peel and stick sensors are multi-functional.  They can detect water leaks, open doors and windows, sounding alarms and temperature changes.  The Notion bridge connects to your WiFi to relay information from each sensor to your smartphone.  The Notion smartphone app allows you to receive alerts and manager your system from anywhere.

Do I need WiFi and a smartphone or tablet?

Yes, WiFi is required for the sensors to be able to monitor and alert you.  You must download the app to your smartphone or tablet to be able to get the alerts from the sensors.

Is Notion Pro included in this pilot?

Notion Pro is a professional monitoring service for $15.00 a month, this is NOT included in the pilot.  Pilot participants will receive a set of Notion sensors which will have the base level functionality and monitoring through the app on a smartphone or tablet.

How do I find out more about Notion?

You can visit their website at www.getnotion.com.  After you enroll for the pilot an email will be sent to you with a link to the site as well.

How do I sign up?

Please go to www.amrefinery.com/scfb to enroll.  You will be asked to provide your name, address, phone and email as well as answer a few questions.  Read the participation agreement and submit.  You will receive a confirmation email once you have been verified as a policyholder of American Modern and you should receive you sensors in 7-14 business days.

Why does American Modern want to give me sensors?

American Modern is committed to protecting your home and belongings.  We want to learn how devices, such as Notion, can do so.  We need your help to understand the potential of the devices and how they can save you from potential water damage.

Can I keep the sensors or do I have to give them back after the pilot?

The sensors are yours to keep after the pilot.

What will you be doing with the data collected?

American Modern will us the data to understand if devices, such as Notion, help to prevent or reduce damage caused by water. The data will not be sold and will be used solely by American Modern.  Results of the pilot will be shared with South Carolina Farm Bureau.

Will you be bothering me with surveys, phone calls and emails?

While we hope it won’t be a bother, we really want to get your feedback.  We may reach out at certain times in the pilot to do hear your thoughts about the devices as well as if Notion caught any leaks.
